CLASS DESCRIPTIONS

BHAKTI YOGA

Yoga of Devotion honors the holistic nature of "Yoga Practice". This style of Vinyasa flow is a dynamic system of practicing asana, linking breath to movement, while building heat, endurance, flexibility, strength, balance and concentration. Just as important as the physical practice, if not more, is the practice of meditation and Kirtan which opens and closes the 90 minute class. This is an intense practice.

HOT YOGA

Hot Yoga is a challenging 90 minute class of specific postures and breathing exercises practiced in a heated room. The heat warms the body, muscles, and joints which allows for maximum stretching and strengthening with a reduced rate of injury. Also, the body detoxifies through sweating. This class is suitable for all ages and ability levels. Be prepared to sweat so please bring a large towel and some replenishing liquids.

 

POWER YOGA

Are you ready for a strong and lean body? Then venture into the world of Power Yoga. This hour and a half class incorporates asanas (postures) and prana (breath) which helps bring strength, balance, and flexibility to the mind, body and soul. You're guaranteed to get a work out and at the same time find a level of equanimity. Bring a towel, the body will sweat as you work in the postures. The room is kept warm to allow the body to open safely. Please advise the instructor of any known injiries prior to your practice. A great workout for the fitness guru in you. Challenges the body, mind and spirit to grow, expand and develop.

 

NATYA YOGA

Natya Yoga or the spiritual path of Dance, is a fusion of yoga asanas with the fluid element of dance. As teh flow of Prana moves through the body, the body flows through the movement of life. This is the dance we practice on the mat with the intention to bring out into the world. Guided meditation is also part of the practice. This is an open level class.

 

YIN YOGA

This gentle yet intense class incorporates long, slow and deep postures focusing on all areas of the body we hold tension. Great for individuals exploring yoga for the very first time. 

 

DRENCHED

A heart pumping mix of kickboxing and weights (10 mins. weights, 50 mins. kickboxing). Complete your total body workout with hardcore abs. You will be DRENCHED!
 

KICKBOXING

Is a complete body workout, which promotes full body toning and intense cardiovascular exercise. So join us in this heart thumping, energetic hour of sweat!

 

PILATES

Designed almost a century ago, Pilates is the latest trend in fitness. Germany's Joseph Pilates designed a workout to help strengthen the band around the entire trunk (abdominal and lower back). This one-hour class is done entirely on the mat without weights. "Physical fitness is the first requisite of happiness." - Joseph Pilates

 

ZUMBA

Ditch the workout and join the party! Zumba fuses international musical rhythms with Latin dance-inspired moves to create this dynamic workout. There is no complicated choreography so it is fun and easy to do. No previous dance experience is required to participate in this "fitness party".

 

WELLNESS PLAYSHOP ~ JOURNEY WITHIN

Marking Synergy's 4 Year Anniversary, Synergy will be holding a Wellness Playshop~Journey Within. This one day event will offer transformational tools to help enhance physical, mental and emotional health. By approaching wellness holistically (mind, body, spirit) the event will include discussion on how to feed oru bodies, our minds and our souls. Tehre will also be a guided meditation on basic asanas (yoga poses). In the spirit of Seva and Metta, JOURNEY WITHIN is donation-based. Opened minds and hearts are welcomed!
